Firstly, I fell into the trap of the salesman who kept telling me how their membership works and how I can bring another person whom I could gym with for free, for a month's trial. I went on to write down my banking details and contact details, not knowing any better. He said to me a contract would then be sent to my email address. Since then, there hasn't been any email sent to me regarding that. After that encounter and a day after, I went on to call their offices to have my membership which hadn't activated cancelled and have my contact and banking details removed, because then a mandate i mistakenly approved had been on my bank account. I repeat, i did not know any better at the time. They instructed that I go to their branch. I went there and got help from a lady who works in their accounts department. I believe she saw on their system that the membership had not been activated because I came a few days to their branch after the entrapment. She went on to give me a cancellation form that of which she wrote nothing on the last debit payment and date in their respective sections, leaving me to believe that since I went to cancel a few days after "joining", I have nothing to pay for. To my surprise, I was debited on the 25th. It seemed that lady took me for a fool. I couldn't cancel the mandate at the bank. So i had to face Gym Company on my own. I've went to their branch five times without any solution, met with their manager which led to nowhere but empty promises and more lies. During December 2024, I went there before Christmas and found assistance from another lady in the accounts department and guess who she was seating with? The very same lady who "helped" and **** to me at first, acting like she doesn't remember me. The other lady gave me another cancellation form, this time, with the last debit date written which was on 25th December 2024. But they debited on the 23rd, more than their membership fee. I didn't try to reverse, I just let it be knowing that after that date, the mandate will be removed. And it wasn't removed at all. They then debited me again on the 25th January 2025 which could potentially constitute as *****. I went to their branch on Sunday, 26th January 2025. I came with a different strategy of not explaining much and just say "I am here for the exit interview". But, unfortunately, the people from accounts weren't available. Only a rude receptionist was there. Now, I urge to not sign up with Gym Company. They do such things knowingly. They deliberately make it so hard to get out of a gym membership or contract. I hope this reaches the relevant authorities who may go as far to investigate them and hold accountable for such ****ming work tactics.
