Gym Company with bad customer service

I requested to cancel my membership at Gym Company Bloed mall Pretoria, as it is a month to month. I was told that I cannot cancel while my account is in arrears. I don't work anymore and I don't go to the gym anymore. My question is how will I finish paying, while I am being charged every month for something I don't use. I need my membership canceled.
