GYM COMPANY WESTGATE: MONTHS OF CANCELLATION REQUESTS, CONTINUED PAYMENT DEMANDS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION

GYM COMPANY WESTGATE: MONTHS OF CANCELLATION REQUESTS, CONTINUED PAYMENT DEMANDS AND STILL NO RESOLUTION

I am absolutely furious with Gym Company’s handling of my cancellation.

Let me be clear: I HAVE NEVER USED THEIR GYM. This was not simply a membership I stopped using. From the outset, system problems involving my and my daughter’s memberships prevented me from accessing the apps, booking an induction and using the services I was paying for. My daughter attended once, without the induction or guidance she needed.

I first requested cancellation in writing on 25 February 2026. I submitted completed cancellation forms on 27 March and resubmitted corrected documents on 28 May when requested.

I cooperated. I followed up. I supp**** the forms and correspondence repeatedly. I was told the matter would be sorted out and understood it had been resolved. Yet I continued paying for approximately five to six months while trying to get confirmation.

Instead of a resolution, I received payment demands from three different WhatsApp numbers and multiple email contacts, quoting amounts of R698, R798 and R1,047 and warning about my credit record.

After all of that, I sent a detailed formal complaint TWICE, setting out the history and asking for proper intervention. Both replies simply directed me to another department for cancellations.

HOW MANY TIMES MUST A CUSTOMER REQUEST THE SAME CANCELLATION?

Referring me elsewhere does not answer the complaint. It does not explain the continued charges, address the system failures or resolve the repeated collection contact. After months of this, the contact feels like harassment.

I should not have to coordinate Gym Company’s departments or explain the same documented history to every new employee who contacts me.

I want a responsible person to take ownership: confirm cancellation of both memberships, investigate and correct the disputed charges, provide a complete account statement, address any incorrect credit reporting, and give me a substantive written response.

I have retained the emails, cancellation forms and WhatsApp correspondence supporting this complaint. I am prepared to provide them through the appropriate consumer-complaint channels.

Gym Company: stop passing me between departments and resolve the complaint. This level of customer service is unacceptable.
