Gym Company forced debits

I’ve been struggling to cancel my contract with Gym company for the longest time as I had been unemployed and later had to leave the country. I was told to pay a penalty fee for canceling and cover the remainder of the contract which I couldn’t do for obvious reasons. Now I see they have the audacity to debit from my account even though it’s obvious that no one is even allowed to set foot in any gyms because of the current pandemic
