Gym Company are cheats

I am in debt for a membership that I never even activated.<br> <br> 2 years ago, I was shopping and some a gentleman who was seated with a group of Gym Company staff, next to the food court at Maponya Mall, approached me telling me that I could try the gym for two months and if I don't like it, I can Cancel.<br> <br> I was in a hurry, and I needed time to consider it because I was slightly weighing the 1 month free option, so because they said I could cancel it anytime I wish, I filled in the form. Nobody told me that the form was a contract, what sane person would sign a contract on the street.<br> <br> Two weeks later, i called them to tell them I did not want the membership because I was merely a student and my finances did not look good. I never went to the gym, not even once, so logically and legally, my card/membership could not have been activated.<br> <br> The company now claims that I owe them R8000 !!! How can that be? How am I being billed so much for a form that didn't eve disclose terms and conditions?<br> <br> I refuse to pay a debt that i had cancelled before the contract that I cancelled years ago and it is unfair for a Company to cheat people like this.<br> <br> Why are entities like these still open?
