cancellation of membership

i joined a gym company under false pretence by one of gym representative by the name of Dabulamanzi Khumalo. after i explained to him that i want a gym that gives me an option of prepaid not contract that is when i want to leave the gym i can do so willing and at anytime without being bind by any contract, then Mr Dabulamanzi Khumalo agreed by saying yes the is such an option in the Gym Company and he further said that I don't need to travel to Maponya Mall since the is going to be an opening of a new GYM COMPANY in Dobsonville Mall ,to my surprise when i called the Dobsonville Mall Centre Manager said they never reached an agreement with the Gym Company so it will not take place now and when i called the accounts department for Gym Company in Maponya Mall I was told to pay an amount of R1500 by the lady called Palesa before I can cancel it. The matter was then escalated to the manger by the name of Makhosi because i am not prepared to pay that amount and she said she will come back to me. Am still waiting for the response .
