CANCELLATION AND UNFAIR ITC LISTING

I joined this gym 2008 and cancelled immediately, I was assured it was cancelled. I just got my credit report record yesterday I found myself listed on ITC and it shows that i have a default by gym company. I never even received a letter from these people and i have never ever set my foot inside that Gym nor do i have the membership card but i owe R8000. No one is willing to help, every time i call them they say they are offline or they will call me back. How could you pay a gym R8000 that's ridiculous, I went to Maponya Mall and approached the sales consultants and I was told if I join again they will cancel the R8000 debt and start a fresh imagine the nerve I never went to that gym.
