cancel the contracts

I join the gym last year September. I told the sales agent that end of December I won't be around johanesburg. he said he will cancel my contract I have to pay R200 for cancellation and I did pay . when I call the gym(doornfontein branch) it said is pending, I asked that lady what doesn't it mean, she said She don't know what is the meaning of pending. when I call the headoffice the say they still have my name on the data base. most of people are complaining about the cancellation of contract. can you please be honesty when your approaching the customer about your gym? I don't want to be blacklisted.
