BEWARE GYM COMPANY CONTRACTS

WITHOUT PREJUDICE: During Sept 2012 I signed the contract with Gym Company Winchester Hills I was refused an option to sign a 2 yr Contract . I was told I had to sign a 3 yr Contract which means that my Contract has now lapsed. To ensure that no further debit will be raised against my bank account, a Letter was hand delivered & signed for during Sept 2015 instructing Gym Company not to raise a debit against my bank account. I also stated that I didn't want to extend my contract with another 36 month period, neither on a month-to-month basis. I further informed them of my intention to close my bank account & to please acknowledge receipt of my writing either by facsimile or by email. In final I noted that one is never allowed the courtesy of corresponding with Gym Company by either faxemail, as they simply state that they have neither. Therefor if you call as I did today, the phone remains unanswered. I am absolutely livid to see that Gym Company has raised a debit on 5-10-2015 which is in breach of my 36 month Contract. As usual, the Bank accepts no responsibility, even if I left an insufficient balance & don't have an OD on my account. What are we as Consumers to do? Ridiculous!
