I was contracted by GVK-Siya Zama Construction to undertake a brickwork, a role which later expanded to include scaffolding labour, door installation, tiling, plastering and painting. The rates for these tasks were determined by an appointed independent quantity surveyor(QS). However, GVK altered the rates and only compensated me with half the rates established by the QS. Despite settling part of the payment, they continue to withhold the remaining balance of the scaffolding work, refusing to honour their obligation.
