Poor quality goods

I received a Guess purse as a birthday gift in 2010.As I had a leather purse at that time,I stored the purse away in its original packaging.about a month ago I took it out to use and was utterly disappointed to note that it was peeling badly on the bottom end! I took it to the store and explained to the manager that it wasn't used at all.She could see from the condition of the purse and the barcode.She tag which was still in tact.However when she sent it in for an assessment , I received an sms to say that there is nothing they can do as it falls outside of the 6 month CPA period.I am well aware of my rights regarding the CPA but surely this must be poor quality goods for the purse to just peal away like that! I bought a handbag from the same store previously and a similar thing happened.surely my case can be judged humanely and outside of the CPA. Had I used the purse since the time of purchase until now, I would gladly accept that the damage was as a result of wear and tear, but in my case I never used it.I am really saddened as this was of sentimental value.I trust that the assessors would take another look at the purse and see that it has not been used and replace it.<br> Sally Ind
