TRAFFIC INSURANCE WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

🚨 ****MER ALERT – AVOID TRAFFIC & GAUDRISK 🚨

I want to warn others about my horrible experience with a tyre insurance company called TRAFFIC, underwritten by Gaudrisk. This company is highly unprofessional, misleading, and, in my experience, operates in bad faith. Here’s what happened:

❌ Claim #1 – July

I submitted a claim for a tyre that burst. Not only was it rejected initially, but their reasoning was absurd — they claimed the damage to my bumper disqualified the tyre claim, even though the bumper damage had nothing to do with the tyre issue.

Worse, I was only informed at claim stage that they operate on a reimbur*****t model, which means I had to pay for the tyre out of my own pocket, with no guarantee of reimbur*****t.

It was only after I posted a review on HelloPeter that they reversed their decision and approved the claim — which already says a lot about how they treat customer complaints.

❌ Claim #2 – October

I recently had another tyre torn due to debris left on the road after a storm. I went to Tiger Wheel & Tyre, who assessed the tyre and confirmed: • The tyre needed replacement • The tread depth was 1.6mm (still legal in South Africa)

TRAFFIC rejected the claim again, claiming my tyre tread was below 1mm. But get this — they made this judgment based solely on photos, without ever physically inspecting the tyre or consulting the professional report from the fitment centre.

Who measures tyre tread from a photo? That’s not only unprofessional — it’s outright deceptive.

Because they work on a reimbur*****t-only model, I had to pay out of pocket AGAIN, only to be denied based on vague, unverified reasoning. I have more than 10 years driving experience and have engaged with several other companies, but I have never encountered such a useless and *********** company in my life ⸻

🚫 DO NOT TRUST TRAFFIC or GAUDRISK

Their process is: • Unclear • Inaccessible • Dishonest

They delay, deny, and deflect. Unless you publicly shame them, they won’t budge.

If you’re looking for tyre or value-added insurance, stay far away from TRAFFIC. I highly recommend alternatives like: ✅ Bidvest ✅ Dotsure ✅ AVIS

These companies have far better reputations and actually understand customer service and fair claims handling.

If you read this — do better. Sending photos instead of assessors is not how fair claims are processed. Ignoring professional fitment centres and relying on “visual guesses” is unacceptable.
