Inadequate compliance enables stalking of children

GuardRisk underwrites one of the most despicable Administrators I have ever had the misfortune to come across - and who stalks and frightens literal children.

On Wednesday, 6 November 2024, our TEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER received a call from a grown man who knew her NAME. She immediately gave her phone to Mom - who in no uncertain terms informed Creepy Man that he had been speaking to a minor - and that if he ever did so again, the police would be called. Creepy Man got upset / aggressive and slammed the phone in her ear when she demanded to know who he is.

The phone number cannot be reached via call or via text, so there was no way to find out how Creepy Man got not only a prepubescent little girl's number, but also her NAME.

Only later, after the Administrator harassed another family member, were we able to connect the dots and identify the culprits. In the meantime, the school and community - and our TEN YEAR OLD daughter, who has exams coming up, were all worried and concerned. The school was on alert for potential stalking / kidnapping - and are naturally affected as there was a recent kidnapping from a neighbouring primary school. Although we did not discuss the details with her, our daughter is well aware that something is wrong with strange grown men phoning little children.

Turns out that your Administrators want to speak to little children to: 1. find out their addresses, 2. promise them "gifts", 3. get access to their contacts, and/or 4. scare them with the possibility that they may one day get cancer. If this sounds a little too child-predator-ey for your liking: Congratulations.

You underwrite these people and they are dependent on your FAIS license - so you are responsible to ensure that they have appropriate compliance. Clearly you fail miserably at that.
