Anything for a sale, NO lie is too big

Anything for a sale it seems. I was contacted by a consultant from Guardrisk Insurance earlier this year, about April 2020 with a GAP cover offer for my warranty. I stated that my car warranty is only valid until August 2020 and thus the GAP cover would not be needed. The consultant then assured me that he has the information and that the warranty is valid until April 2021, so I agreed and the cover was put in place.

Mid November, my cars clutch started giving problems... this is where all the trouble started. 1st I had to struggle to get the policy number and details on where I can take the car to. After about 2 days back and forth on the phone, I eventually got the information and proceeded to book my car in at one of the approved workshops. The same day, the workshop called me informed me that I do not have an active warranty plan anymore and they were told by GuardRisk that they only support active policies. I have been paying them since April this year, even this month, and I get absolutely zero support, for a policy that was sold to me with false information, which is *****! All just so they could get a sale. If I was given the correct information, I would never have taken out the GAP cover and instead app**** for an extended warranty (which I had planned on doing next year before the warranty expires). They can't even point me to someone who can cancel the policy, thus I am still expected to pay for NO SERVICE, instead I am passed around a call center with no competent consultants.

The result being, I had to pay R490 to the workshop so they can release my car and am still stuck without a working car for 2 weeks now, where the problem would have been fixed if they had given me accurate information instead of trying to push a sale. The workshop quoted me R5200 to replace the master cylinder, which I can't do at this stage due to financial implications, thus I am going to be without a vehicle for a few months it seems, all thanks to their dishonesty!

Thank you Guardrisk!!!!!!

Update:

I got an email from one of a Technical claims specialists on the 27th of November 2020 requesting details on the policy, which I provided and I provided additional information which they might need.

Surprise surprise, no movement after I sent the information through. No additional emails except a "Thank you" promptly after I rep****. It is now the 9th of December and I am no further than I was when this all started

I am still without a vehicle, without finances to properly repair it and I am still paying for this policy!!

I will state this again, if it was not for the ********** sale of the policy with FALSE information provided by the consultant, I would have app**** for an extended warranty well in advance of the warranty expiring, thus avoiding ALL OF THIS including all the money I have already spent to try and repair the car, to no avail I might add.

If you want to turn this into a positive review I expect this issue to be resolved, and very quickly

Update: I was assured by the representative that called me on the 10th of December that the cover will still be in affect even though there is no Main policy anymore and the agent apologized for the inconvenience of the matter.

The car is currently at a workshop being repaired, however when they contacted Innovation group (policy via Guardrisk) to log the claim, they were told that they cannot pay out without a main policy..... AGAIN! resulting in me having to pay over R10 000 out of my own pocket to get repairs done.

How is this possible? After everything last year, after me still paying the policy, and now.... just no service. I am paying a dead policy and no one even picks it up on any system, how is this even remotely fair?
