I took my Mini Convertible to GT Club Sport after being told the issue would be an easy fix and would not exceed R25,000. After that, communication largely broke down. Messages often went unanswered for weeks, and I received updates only if I followed up repeatedly or visited in person. After 40 days with no clear progress, I insisted on collecting my car. I was invoiced R15,000 for “roof repaired as discussed,” despite the roof not having been repaired. When I queried this, I received a phone call from the owner, Mr. Luzmore, which I experienced as confrontational and focused on personal comments rather than a clear explanation of the charges. The amount was later reduced to R7,500, still without an itemised breakdown of the work performed. After collecting the car, it developed loud roof noise at highway speeds. A subsequent inspection by Mini confirmed that the roof motor was missing and the roof-operating-button was broken — issues that were not present before the vehicle was taken in. I provided GT Club Sport with documentation from Mini, including the estimated cost to rectify these issues, but did not receive any response. Based on my experience: unprofessional communication, unclear billing, and workmanship that left my vehicle in worse condition. I would not recommend this workshop.
