We contacted Alveston manor and spa in Middelberg regarding availability for R1 499 for Couple's *****s Retreat Three . The receptionist first said we must eft or direct deposit to them, which we declined and then said we need to pay on the day of arrival at reception(which was very strange) . our room: the carpets were dirty and stained all over! The bed was a fold over sleeper couch with a spring mattress ontop-The springs dug into my back- stayed awake till 3am, We slept on the floor eventually.Over cooked- dry beef wellington and Mouldy fruit kebabs(disgusting!). Spa: Only received a back massage <br> no arm, shoulder or head massage. Chinese nail polishes, ***** home made sugar scrubs(no professional products( therefore refused facial. Cold Jacuzzi and sauna. back in Johannesburg, Feeling as though we just wasted R1499... Tired, In pain from a bad night on the floor, and suspecting that my husband has food poisoning...Off to take him to the Medi Cross doctor. avoid! Alveston Manor Hotel & Spa Middelburg
