Groupon System Error

<p>I'm a huge fan of Groupon, having used them many times. I'm just a bit disappointed at what happened during my last purchase. </p> <p> </p> <p>I purchased a deal for a sushi platter using a code for a discount. So the platter would be R167.20 from the original price of R209. As it was processing, there was some glitch on the app and it gave me two vouchers for the sushi platter. We know that two vouchers cannot be bought by one person, it's a Groupon policy. However, it somehow happened that the app gave me two. It charged me the discounted price for the first voucher and the full price for the second voucher (in that order - I have the bank SMS's as proof). So I queried this. I redeemed the first voucher in the meantime, because I needed to place the order for the platter in advance to collect the next day. Groupon emailed me during the day saying they would refund me for the second voucher. Two days later they emailed again saying they would process my refund of R167.20. So I rep**** to let them know the amount is R209. They then said that I used the voucher valued at R209, which doesn't make sense, because I chose the first voucher to redeem and queried the second. Either way, the error was on their side for processing two payments in the first place when that shouldn't even be possible considering their policy of one voucher per person for one product. Customer service said there's nothing they can do. Unfortunately, I used the more expensive voucher. </p> <p>How is this fair? I'm being penalised for their mistake! I did NOT choose to buy two vouchers. That was the app's error.</p> <p>P.S. both vouchers are identical. There's no discounted price listed on one. They both display the full amount. There's no way for me to differentiate between the two, apart from the fact that one came first and one came second and I was charged R167.20 first and R209 second. Hence, I queried the second one. </p> <p> </p> <p>Highly disappointed. </p>
