Red tape, unnecessary delays and blame shifting that is inconveniencing me.
I am being inconvenienced by Renault’s red tape and its unacceptable.
My car broke down on the 15/06/2022 at around 09:30am, over a week ago. Roadside was very helpful and got my car to the dealer within 1 hour.
Initially I thought the problem was the clutch and contacted both Renault customer service and M-sure to inquire about the way forward. I was informed that if the car is not back within 8 hours, I will be reimbursed for the transport expenses , IF THE CLAIN IS APPROVED.
My challenge is now with the assessment time frame, the approval of the claim and the inconvenience of not having a car to use.
1. My car was sent to the dealer a 10 days ago (15/06/2022) and the assessment was only completed 2 days ago (22/06/2022). 2. The initial report (21/06/2022 and quote indicates that the Clutch brake fluid pipe has been damaged by the battery acid, and Renault refuses to cover the cost. 3. My warrantee documents state that the Breaking system is covered by the manufacturer, but this was only approved on the 23/06/2022. 4. I had to go and spend over 4 hours at Group1 Renault The Glen offices and take pictures of the damages on the 20/06/2022, and had to make about 5 phone calls between Renault Head office and Port Shepstone branch to force The Glen to include the battery in the assessment. 5. The battery was replaced by Renault/Nissan Thompson Port Shepstone in November 2021, this battery is less than a year old (7 months) and it has caused damages to my car and Renault The Glen told me that I need to handle it with Port Shepstone - to me Renault is Renault regardless of the branch. 6. On the 21/06/2022 The Glen told me that I needed to come back and collect the battery and send it to the Battery Center myself even though it is less than a kilometer away from them, this I refused to do as I didn't understand why. 7. The fact that the battery has been identified as the cause, it was not included on the initial quote, it was only assessed on the 22/06/2022. 8. When I called Port Shepstone 20/06/2022, they have asked for the report which indicates that the battery is faulty and has caused the damages, this of cause was not indicated on the report. The Glen told me they need to re-assess the damages and review if the battery is the real cause or was it the previous battery or other factors, this caused more delays and I'm still suffering without a car. 9. I have been informed that it will take up to 21 days for the vehicle to be fixed after ordering pipe due to the pipe not being available locally. 10. Since this ordeal started I have been inquiring about and requesting that I receive a courtesy/loan car, with this also I have been thrown from pillar to post. Head office and The Glen are shifting the blame on each other, and two days ago it was shifted to Battery Center.
Now that the Battery has been replaced and the repairs approved (concluded on the 23/06/2022).
I need help in the following: 1. I need a solution to how am I supposed to get to work as I've missed days already due to not having a car. I need a courtesy car or a car hire or a loan car to be approved asap. 2. If the part is not available than who will be responsible for the car hire or courtesy car for that period.
I cannot lose more time away from work (R600/day) and I need to be mobile asap. I also have a side business from which make about R800 net a day and which I'm unable to do without a car.
