Group-1 Auto are dishonest and ********* – avoid them at all costs

I purchased a vehicle from Group 1 under the impression that it was a demo model. In reality, it turned out to be a year-old second-hand car, something I only discovered after the deal was done. To make matters worse, I later realised the mileage on the vehicle was nearly 5,000 km higher than what was reflected on the OTP. That’s not a minor oversight, it’s deliberate misrepresentation.

When I raised the issue, the salesperson, Kim, completely ghosted me. No response, no follow-up; nothing. And Jurgens, the dealer principal, simply made excuses, danced around pseudo facts and refused to take any responsibility.

I offered a fair and reasonable solution: refund the difference between what I paid and what I should have paid. Instead, I was met with denial and avoidance. Apparently, they would rather risk reputational damage and lost future sales than do the right thing.

I noticed that I was not the first customer to be treated in this way and this is not how ethical businesses operate. If this is the standard of integrity and accountability at Group 1, I strongly recommend staying far away. I will continue sharing this experience publicly to warn others against making the same mistake.
