Quad bike breaks failed while riding

We booked quad biking for a couple although we were with other people. The ride was all good until towards the end when the breaks of my bike stopped working on a downhill. I fell off the bike and got really bruised. No one attended to us after the ride, no one called to ask about what happened. Still nursing the bruises.
