Groote Schuur Hospital Trauma Unit lacks empathy & professionalism

I am deeply disappointed with the service and standard of care provided by the trauma unit at GSH. My recent experience involved calling out of pure concern of a family member, and the response I received was far from acceptable.

When I contacted the trauma unit to inquire about the condition and whereabouts about the patient, I was met with indifference and a complete lack of empathy. The staff member I spoke to was unhelpful, providing minimal information and showing no concern for my worries. It felt as though my call was an inconvenience rather than a legitimate plea for information about a loved one.

Moreover, the overall quality of service was shockingly low. Basic communication, compassion, and professionalism were entirely absent. It's distressing to think that this is the level of care provided to patients and their families during such critical times.

I sincerely hope the hospital administration takes immediate action to improve the service and ensure that no other family has to endure the same distressing experience. Patients and their families deserve to be treated with respect, empathy, and dignity.

They say that soft skills are on the rise and what the future needs but this hospitals lacks all of them.

Appalling.
