Letting the bride down

Initially we were impressed with the manicured gardens, chapel, reception area and restaurant. However, the walls and roof cannot deliver the experience... only the people can. If you plan to have your wedding at Grootbosch, think twice. They are out of their depth and not hospitality professionals at all.

Owners were never to be seen, only appeared on the day of the wedding, at the door of the chapel, in their jeans and sneakers.

Accommodation
- No extra blankets in rooms
- Bed thrown torn and frayed
- Coffee and sugar not replaced during 3-night stay
- Rooms not serviced until after lunch daily

Restaurant
- Lunch was not available or offered once
- Dinner (night before wedding) was supposed to be A La Carte, it was scribbled on a torn paper, and arrived like a buffet
- Meat was tough on all occasions
- Staff partied in restaurant night before wedding

Wedding
- Morning of the wedding, there was no water (due to load shedding), and they offered no alternatives or compassion, but said \it is not our problem"
- Baby-sitter pre-booked"
