To The Rescue

This is a bit of a mixed review in all honesty.

A friend came to stay with us from Belgium and needed to book a bus from Grahamstown to Port Elizabeth. She tried on the Greyhound website and via computicket, and was unsuccessful and eventually had to call to book. Once on the phone, the booking was a pleasure, and she was done within minutes. But no ticket was emailed to her - instead she was simply told to bring her ID and her credit card with her when she boarded the bus.

When trying to catch the bus this morning, we were uncertain as to which Grahamstown bus stop she was supposed to be boarding at. We assumed Frontier Hotel, because that is where most buses board, but when the boarding time came and went, we were concerned and phoned Greyhound's customer care centre. WHAT A PLEASURE! I wish I had written down the name of the gentleman who helped me, because not only did he help on the line by confirming that we were in the wrong place (we should have been at Kimberley Hall), then call me back within minutes of arranging for the bus to come to where we were, but he then called me back fifteen minutes later to make sure that my friend had gotten onto her bus safe and sound!

This, to me, is proof that practically any problem can be fixed with great customer service. Greyhound's website definitely needs some work, and I wish that I hadn't had to call to find out where the bus was going to be leaving from since this information should be readily available, but at the same time, I am so thrilled with the customer service received.
