Refund policy no fair

A mistake happened whereby I bought a ticket for my friend, she also bought the same ticket not knowing that I bought for her. Now she has two tickets for the same trip, we called the call center same day because we need the money for accommodation. Unfortunately we are told we have to wait 72hours before the trip just feels unfair.
