Late bus, switching of bus results in lost phone

Hi, my girlfriend boarded a Citiliner bus from Pretoria to Bloemfontein on Friday the 30/11/2018. The bus was late by more than 1 hour 30 minutes. She had to wait from 14:00 in the afternoon to 15:45 for the bus. Then when the bus to Johannesburg Park Station, they passengers were informed that they had to change their bus and get on another bus which would take them to Pretoria.

When she got off the bus she took her belongings and when she put her stuff in the Greyhound to Pretoria, she realized that she had left her phone on the Citiliner bus.

She then made her way to the Citiliner bus, when she tried to board the bus. The bus driver told her that the Greyhound bus to Pretoria would leave her behind, even though she told him that she had left her cellphone on the bus.

This was late in the evening and already way past the stated arrival time of 20:55 for Pretoria. My girlfriend only got to Pretoria at around past eleven in the evening.

My problem is that the bus to initial bus that was meant to take my girlfriend to Pretoria was late and after that she and other passengers were told to switch busses and that was not something that was planned ahead.

Due to these incidents which include the bus being very late and having to switch busses. This definitely resulted in my girlfriend losing a phone which she bought in August for R2700.00 cash. I would like to please help us find this phone or in some way replace it. As like everyone when you buy a phone you plan on using it for a period of time and I'm sure she didn't plan on using it for four months.

The bus driver of the bus travelling from Bloemfontein to Pretoria, could have made an effort to stop the second bus and let my girlfriend look for the phone. But she had to leave cause her other stuff was in the Greyhound bus. We have phoned you lost and found department and they are saying the phone was not found on the bus. But on Friday evening we spoke to someone on the very same phone saying we should come and collect the phone at the bus depot. That persons said their name is Jonathan.
