Ignorance on lost luggage due to the drivers negligence
On 01 February 2020 as my son departed the Greyhound bus in Cape Town from Durban, his luggage was missing. He had his luggage ticket with him. Greyhound drivers Andre & Philip promised to look for the missing luggage and if they find it, they would get back to him within 48 hours. That did not happen.
My son is a student and Greyhound representatives seem to take no regard of that. He has to phone them everyday trying to get feedback on the status of his luggage case. They never gave him a direct line to phone to prove that they are playing with him. He did feel the sign the claim form and they said it would take up to 7 days before they can inform him of their resolution. To this day he still has to phone them.
This kid has no clothes to wear, no toiletry in fact absolutely nothing as everything was on that bag. Now we had to try to buy toiletries but cannot buy these clothes as we have a lot of financial responsibilities including paying varsity fees.
This case was supposed to be escalated as an emergency but the way it is dragged does prove that your personnel knows exactly what happened to the bag. I request that all the items in that bag including the bag be replaced with immediate effect. I do not understand how you expect a student to survive in a foreign city to survive without clothes.
I am bringing this to the superiors of Greyhound with the belief that it did not reach them and that they will do what is just.
