Horrible service by greyhound bus driver

Good Day

I travelled with the Greyhound from Pretoria to Bloemfontein on the 3rd of April. The bus was supposed to leave at 16:15. It was late, and only left at 17:00, which is understandable to me as an sms was sent confirming the bus would be late.

The bus arrived in Pretoria, and took a lot of people all travelling to different destinations. We were told that changes would be made in Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg, there were a lot of people already waiting for the bus as it was late. The Greyhound officials decided they would inspect every person's bus ticket, to confirm which bus they should go into as there were three buses travelling to different locations.

A gentleman (and I use the word gentleman out of politeness) by the name of Mr Sam Mkhwa**** checked my ticket and explicitly told me to wait in the incorrect bus. When he finally did check my ticket for entry into the bus he told me to wait for, he realised that the bus I was supposed to board (Premium Bus) which I paid R650 had already left. I ask him what I must now do, he tells me there is nothing he can do I must go to Gate 7. He had absolutely no sympanthy for the mistake that he, infact made. He proceeded to tell me that such things always happen and I should not be angry. He was absolutely arrogant, and unkind in any otherwise stressful situation that he could have prevented. I informed him that he was the one, that told be to go into the incorrect bus, and I waited for that bus based on his instruction. he laughed it off, which absolutely infuriated me.

I love Greyhound buses and I always travel with the premium bus for the comfort and was absolutey infuriated by his behaviour. His collegue whose name I fogot to confirm, was otherwise very kind and told me they would try to sort it out. He told me the buses were travelling in the same direction and I could board on the bus already there, and change midway. That eventually did happen and I boarded the correct bus.

I am grieved by this situation as greyhound has always been my bus of choice. The changing of buses between Pretoria and Johannesburg is a huge inconvenience. I was sitting next to a pregnant women who had to stand up and relocate all her belongings due to the change. The process was not well handled administratively, there were a lot of people travelling and manually checking their tickets one by one just did not work.

I hope such things can be looked into so the process is smoother for passengers such as myself.
