Greyhound ************ Operator

I booked a greyhound bus online for my daughter from Durban going back to Grahamstown on the 4th of July 2017. The bus was supposed to leave Durban at 6:45 am. At 6:20 am we received an sms from Greyhound saying the bus has been changed to Megacoach. I was not impressed as most people book Greyhound buses for comfort. I asked a lady at Greyhound if they will compensate me for putting my daughter on Megacoach and she told me, the only thing is for my daughter to get off the bus and will refund me. That was impossible since my daughter was due back at the university. I phoned greyhound customer service that sme day and was given an email address of Juan-Pierre Du Buisson who is a customer service Manager, where I wrote an email complaining about what happened as I felt it was wrong of GREYHOUND TO ONLY SEND THE MESSAGE 20 MIN BEFORE DEPARTURE, IF THEY HAD SENT IT A DAY BEFORE i WOULD HAVE GONE ONLINE AND BOOKED INTERCAPE. I feel greyhound did this on purpose to send message at last minute so no one will cancel. Juan-Pierre sent me back an email saying that Greyhound and Megacoach buses are the same, which is not true as my daughter and fellow passengers complained of the most uncomfortable bus ride and had paid so much money to be put on Megacoach. I think greyhound did FALSE ADVERTISING and would like a refund of the money I paid. I was not the only passenger who complained. This is not the first time this has happened as I had previously booked Greyhound for my mother and daughter From JHB to Durban an Citiliner was brought

Its been 12 days since I posted my complaint about Greyhound and no once has responded. I speak to a number of people, colleagues, friends and relatives about Greyhound and everyone who has used Greyhound has had a similar incident where the bus was swopped for Citiliner or Megacoach instead of Greyhound. I think I must be the only one who sees something wrong with the way Greyhound operates. ITS BETTER TO USE INTERCAPE, as what you book online is what you get and not Greyhound who makes you pay exhobirtant prices for a Greyhound bus only to send you a message 10minutes before boarding to notify you of the change when you can't cancel. The fact that Greyhound has not answered proves that they are guilty of selling to consumers by force a lower grade service than they requested. I am still going to raise this with relevant bodies that monitor their industry.
