Greyhound fails to live up to their luxury standards
Greyhound takes great advantage of the fact that during holiday time there are more passengers, therefore providing ridiculous coaches that do not say "Greyhound", yet we pay exorbitant amounts for comfort and great service.
1. I booked a "Greyhound" bus for the 4th of January, only to be told hours before boarding that a "Megacoach bus" will be transporting me and other passengers to Jhb, without a valid explanation 2. During the booking process, I booked a "double decker bus" and I also chose the seat number, but upon boarding the "single decker Megacoach bus" I was seated right at the back, my seat was the only one without a curtain. I sat there roasting in the sun until I asked the host if i could change seats 3. The toilet on the Megacoach was not functioning at all, creating a terrible odour in the bus. This forced the host to pour Jeyes in the toilet, by the time I got off the bus my luggage was smelling of Jeyes, how disgusting! 4. The bus broke down in the middle of nowhere and no one could give an update as what was happening. We spent 2 hour on the side of the road hoping to get answers regarding the breakdown of the bus, but nothing. 5. The bus stopped for 40 minutes in Piet Retief "filling up fuel" 6. I paid R715 from Melmoth to Jhb yet another passenger paid R650 from Richard's Bay to Jhb (her distance is greater than MINE). I've never paid so much for a Greyhound bus, in fact it wasn't even Greyhound. I paid so much for such **** service, **** bus 7. Upon contacting Greyhound on Facebook about this matter, they asked for my ticket details and contact details, only to be told that I must send an email! WHAT THE HELL? 8. I reached my destination 2 hours 45 minutes later than the estimated time of arrival reflected on my ticket
I am fed up with Greyhound at the same time very disappointed. Such appalling service from the company that prides itself with being a luxury coach operator yet they fail to provide luxury but instead take advantage of customers. It's been 3 days and no one has bothered to communicate or care to explain Thursday's ordeal. I speak on behalf of other passengers when I say Greyhound has created a bad name for itself and it continues to tarnish it's brand.
