Greyhound: Experience and suggestions

I travel weekly between Bloemfontein and Mossel Bay with the luxury sleepliner Greyhound bus. It is a comfortable and affordable option. Unfortunately, the bus is continuously late ( 2 -5 hours). This creates a lot of problems and frustration. I understand unforeseen situations on the road or cases out of control for the drivers. Unfortunately, in most cases, the delays could have been prevented. Some of the drivers deliberately delay the trip with unnecessary smoke breaks or long stops, not minding the time at all. It also seems that the buses are not always properly maintained, which causes breakdowns and long standovers. On the contrary, the Intercape bus, with almost the same route and many more stopping points, is hardly ever late, which shows that it is possible to keep to the arrival times. Another concern is the ****roaches on the bus. The buses should be fumigated to prevent ****roach infests. This is not a nice experience to see ****roaches running around on the bus. I wrote this review not to blame or shame but to request and suggest solutions to the mentioned frustrations. If Greyhound pays attention to these issues, it will make a considerable change to the Greyhound experience.
