Greyhound a nightmare
I have been receiving a very bad service from Greyhound. On Sat I booked a bus from Empangeni to Ermelo, the bus was 1 hour 45 minutes late. I waited all that time for it to arrive. Today on the 4th March 2020 I had a booking for a bus from Ermelo to Empangeni. The bus was scheduled to leave Ermelo at 12:10 pm. I was at the station by 12:05, there was no bus. I waited for about 30 minutes, thinking its late again. I then went and asked at Steers if they have seen the bus. The told us that the bus came early at 11:50 and left just after 12, which is why I did not find it at 12:05 pm. I phoned the call centre to ask why the bus left before departure time (per the ticket), the lady Gladys Muphiri said the bus left on time. Which is very surprising because I was there before the departure time and even the people at Steers confirmed that the bus left earlier. No one called or sent an sms to inform me that the bus will depart before the time on the ticket. Gladys Muphiri says there is nothing they can do, I should wait for another bus tomorrow which I should pay full price for regardless of the fact that the bus left before departure time. She was so contradictory with herself as she also mentioned that there is a 10 min window period that the bus should wait for missing passengers.
Greyhound has been a nightmare. Last year the bus broke down in Piet Retief coming back to Ermelo and we waited more than 3 hours for them to send alternative transport. This bus has costed me a lot because of this incompetency and surprisingly I am told that I wont be refunded my ticket, let alone all these additional costs I have to incur because of this.
I dont want to see this bus again, and would not advise anyone to use it.
Terrible, terrible.
