Grey hound 40% *******

I have booked my bus ticket in advanced with grey hound for 24 apr to 01 may to cape town. During the week the State President imposed a travel and gathering ban. My holiday lodge contacted me to request if i would like to cancel or move my stay dates on the lodge as it will be closed until 30 April due to the restrictions. I was most pleased to move my dates to August without any penalties.

On Tuesday 17 March i contacted Greyhound help desk and informed them about the situation and that i would like to move my trip to Cape town for August as the restrictions and ban by the President was made. The lady informed me that i have to pay a 40% bus ticket price penalty. I explained to the lady that it was a National crises the President has placed and that i am not cancelling my ticket but only changing the dates. If i had cancelled my ticket i would agree on the penalty. Grey hound need to accommodate on a national crises and not what they can rip of from travelers traveling on their buses who wish to change their travel dates that was made way in advance.
