Greenworks doesn't keep to their contract.

The initial contact with Greenworks was excellent and very impressive. They were on time and very fairly priced. I was suitably impressed and decided to go ahead with them to redo my garden. I signed a contract. In the contract, it stipulated that they would be able to finish the work within 1 month from the date of inception. I was even told it would only take 5 days, but because of weather situations, it may be delayed which is why they extend the duration of the contract for one year.

5 months later, and I am still waiting for the work to begin!

I have already paid 2/3rds of the value of the contract as a deposit, and I fear that I may have been ****med. They do not answer the phone if you try and call them. They only communicate via WhatsApp text messages.

It has been one excuse after the other. Ok, granted, we also had issues initially we had to get builders in to do a few repairs at home, so they refused to work on the same property as other contractors, which was understandable. Then, even though they say on their website that they are COVID-19 compliant when the country moved to lockdown level 2, they did not work, using that as an excuse. Then the next excuse was when we had the huge looting problems and the workers were living in hot spots which was a good excuse not to work. Thereafter it was the black frost that would kill the plants. They eventually promised to show up last Friday, but we waited for them until late that night with no explanation from them whatsoever. Now the excuse is that it is cold at night.

I just hope that the work can be completed before the contract period of one year runs out. I wonder what the next excuse is going to be?
