Ever so disgusted with GreenPeace South Africa. I was conned in Centurion Mall by extremely friendly and persuasive staff to donate R300 to GreenPeace re Coal mines near Rietvlei Dam. But I specifically said to the sales lady, I would be able to give you a DONATION but cannot afford to sign a monthly debit order. She said it would be fine, but they do not accept cash, and she has to go through the form, take my details and swipe my card to get the R300. I then asked her; will it be EASY to cancel the debit order. Her response, for obvious reasons – no problem. No where on the agreement is a contact number nor email for cancellations. The mandate can be terminated by giving 20 ordinary working days’ notice in writing. I have been writing to the only two emails I could find on their website, I have had NO RESPONSE whatsoever. That being said – DO NOT BE MISLEAD BY THIS SO-CALLED NON-PROFIT ORGANISATION. BE VERY CAREFUL BEFORE SIGNING A DEBIT ORDER.
