A Deeply Flawed System at Greenhouse Study Centre

Greenhouse Study Centre may boast about its diversity, but beneath the surface, the reality is far from inclusive or fair. My experience, particularly in the FET phase, has been frustrating and disheartening, largely due to the blatant favoritism among tutors. There is a clear divide between students who are in their "inner circle" and those who are not. If you happen to be part of this favored group, you can be loud, disruptive, and break rules without any consequences. However, if you are not in this select group and so much as breathe the wrong way, you are met with disapproving stares and unfair scrutiny.

The inconsistency in enforcing rules is even more evident when it comes to the dress code. Female students are not allowed to wear crop tops, yet males students can wear pants so tight that nothing is left to the imagination, and somehow, that is perfectly acceptable. It sends a clear message: different rules apply depending on who you are. When students raise concerns about these double standards, the response is dismissive: *"We’re not a proper school, so we don’t enforce rules like that."* Yet, in the same breath, they dictate what clothing is deemed appropriate, selectively applying regulations when it suits them.

It’s incredibly frustrating to be in an environment where fairness and accountability are mere afterthoughts. Instead of fostering a supportive and equal learning space, Greenhouse Study Centre allows personal biases to dictate how students are treated. This kind of hypocrisy creates an atmosphere where students feel unheard, unvalued, and constantly walking on eggshells.

A study centre should be a place where all students feel respected and supported in their academic journey. Unfortunately, Greenhouse Study Centre falls far short of that standard, prioritizing favoritism over fairness and dismissing concerns rather than addressing them. If they truly want to uphold their claims of inclusivity and quality education, they need to take a hard look at their policies and the way their tutors enforce them.
