Poor quality shoes that don't last. No customer service at all!

On July 25th of last year, I paid my final installment for a pair of Greencross flat lace-up white sneakers, the total of which cost me R1000. Having been a customer of Greencross for many years now I have always had faith in the quality and comfort that the shoes provide. I was incredibly disappointed when the sole of the shoe started to detach from the shoe itself after only having worn them for a little over six months. They are not something which I wear every day and are not used for any strenuous exercise or walking but are just worn around the house. Having paid so much for these shoes it did come with the expectation that they would last longer than a few months, as my previous pairs have.

I returned to the store only to be informed that there is a six-month return policy and anything that extends beyond that falls out of the guarantee. I spoke to the manager who subsequently put me in touch with the area manager who was also unable to help me and advised me to contact customer care, which I did. Unfortunately, they too were unable to assist and referred me back to Greencross' six-month guarantee. This inspires little confidence if, as a company, Greencross only expects their shoes to last for six months. When you're charging that price for something a certain standard and quality is expected. I most certainly cannot afford to buy new sneakers every six months.

I attempted to contact the company via Facebook and Email all of which they ignored! Avoid this company, the shoes are not made to last and the customer service is none existant!
