Poor quality of Green Cross shoes - Disappointed

My 87 year old mom lives with a stroke. She has been a faithful and loyal user of Green Cross shoes for many years.

In 2021 I purchased a Green Cross sandal costing R800 from the Pavilion Store in Durban. Late last year I noticed that the velcro was starting to be problematic. Without consulting me ( as I would have reported this to Green Cross) my dad decided to take it to be repaired. The sandal is now very floppy and looks worn out. It is not even two years old. My mom's foot has either shrunk or this sandal is poorly made.

The previous shoe my mom purchased was in 2013 and she wore this until 2021 when I replaced it. I have lodged a complaint with Green Cross via Facebook Messenger. A customer care consultant called me back today but she sounded very disinterested with no emotion in her voice. Like she could care less. She did say she would escalate my complaint.

We were browsing shoes online and we were on the verge of purchasing the Green Cross Mary Janes for R1,199. No way. We have now decided to purchase hush puppies via Takealot for R599! a fraction of the cost.

Will Green Cross do anything about the poor, substandard quality of their shoes? I wonder ! Their shoes also don't come cheap.

Reading up on the bad reviews online and it is good to see that I am not the one with complaints.
