No cash for refunds

I tried to return an item to the store but they could not refund me because they didn't have any cash. No one had been in the store paying cash and they do not have a float for refunds! They only use the cash received that day! So the Managers advice was to come by late on Friday afternoon or Saturday and hope they have enough cash to do the refund! Absolutely ridiculous
