Disrespect for the disabled

I drove all the way from Franschhoek to Somerset Mall to assist my 91-year-old mother in buying shoes as she suffers badly from oedema. She wanted to speak to the manager, as the latter has helped her with advice and discount before. I went to the manager as asked her to serve my mother once she has finished with her client. <br> <br> The salesladies were friendly and offered help. The manager went on chatting and chatting with the client long after the sale was completed. Then a man walked in and instead of helping my mother who has been waiting patiently in her wheelchair, she helped the new customer. A saleslady approached me and was notably embarrassed. She asked if she could help instead, but I told her I would rather leave the shop than be exposed to this rude treatment any longer. So a customer in a wheelchair is of lesser importance than the rest. What a shame. I left the shop in disgust.
