It is only about the commission, not the service!

Last year my Mother put her house on the market and we elected to go with Jason Greeff from Greeff Properties. From the onset our instructions were that we were looking for a property to purchase together as I wanted my 73 year old mother and 91 year old grandmother on the property with us. My mother has been living in her property for 25 years and would move from there into the new property. Within a short period of time we received an Offer To Purchase. When signing the Agent stipulated that the buyer would be willing to extend the transfer date as they understood my mother's situation of having to find a property to move to. When signing, the agent pointed out where signatures were required but did not go through the OTP clause by clause. By the time we found a property to purchase, the buyers went back on their word and demanded transfer and occupation on the date stated on the OTP. In the in meantime, we found a property to purchase and that Agent went through the OTP word for word, clause by clause, explaining everything regarding selling and purchasing, cost involved and what needed to be done by each party. ESI Attorneys were appointed by Greeff Properties as our Conveyancers. The buyers then insisted on the terms of the OTP. Yes it was signed but we are not real estate agents and re**** on the expertise of our agent. Jason stepped back and let ESI liaise with us regarding the buyers demands. There was absolutely no compassion or understanding for my mother's situation. It came to a point where I contacted Greeff Properties Principal, Ryan Greeff. We landed up paying the buyer R10 500 just so my mother could stay an extra month. I laid a complaint to the Estate Agent Affairs Board, and that was when even the little bit of assistance from the Agents stopped completely as their only interest was whether I was retracting my complaint. Never heard from Jason Kruger again. My mother and grandmother are now scattered for a month until the transfer for the new property is finalized, all their possessions in storage! I have continued with my complaint against Greeff Properties and ESI Attorneys to the EAAB, claiming compensation for rentals and storage. ESI responded on behalf of Greeff stating they will be sticking to what was signed.

This issue is not a legal matter, but a matter regarding professionalism and ethics and what seems to be racial **************! The White real estate agents are using their White attorneys to cover this up with legal jargon! Power play at it's best! No one has addressed the fact that a vital clause was not included in the OTP! No one has addressed the fact that the OTP was not explained word for word, clause by clause to us! No one has addressed the fact that when signing the OTP the agent verbally informed us that the buyer who extend if need be! No on has addressed the fact the the agent and attorneys acted purely on the buyers behalf! No one has addressed the fact that the attorneys were more concerned with the instructions given by the buyer and the pressure put on them by the buyers banking attorneys! Every time the buyer went back on something it became another issue! No one has addressed the fact that almost every interaction was a battle and that we agreed on what we agreed on just to try to resolve each matter as they came up!

In the end, it was all only about the money and the commission!
