Stay away from Great North Towing and Roadside Assist

My Wife was in an accident on 24/08/2018, with her motorcycle. Great North Towing was first on the scene, the guy from Great North ( Jason) promised me that they are registered with our insurance company ( as we could not get hold of our insurance at all) After struggling for about an hour to get hold of the insurance and I had to leave to go to the hospital as my wife was already on her way by ambulance, they took the bike. I know that this was on our own permission and I was grateful that they were there.

I phoned Wimpie on 25/08/2018 to find out about the bike and what the next step is from there. He told me that they do not work on Saturdays and that I must phone back on Monday.

I phone my insurance on Monday and told me that they do not work with Great North. they got the invoice from Wimpie to make payment even though he is not contracted by my insurance.

Payment was done on the Wednesday 29/08/2018, I phoned Wimpie to find out if he received the money and then it all started. He said he will check and get back to me, he never phoned back. I phoned him again and he said the money is not reflecting as yet.

I phoned him again on Thursday 30/08/2018, he told me he is very busy and has not checked yet, he will check and phone me back, again he never phoned back. I phoned again and he did not answer any of my calls the rest of that day.

I phoned him again on Friday 31/08/2018, he told me that it is month end and that he is on his way not to check if the money is in the bank and he will let me know, as I knew by then that he will not phone me back, he proved me right and never phoned back. I phoned him again and he did not answer. Later that afternoon I phoned again and he said that the bike will be delivered to Harley Davidson that Friday afternoon or latest Saturday 01/09/2018, as it is already on the trailer.

I phoned him just after 15:00 on Friday 31/08/2018 to confirm if the bike is still on its way, he said yes it is on its way and will be delivered.

The bike never arrived at Harley on Friday 31/08/2018. We phoned him on Saturday morning and he said the bike was delivered on Friday, he will check and get back to us, he never phoned back and he did not answer his phone for the rest of the day.

Monday, I asked the assessor to please phone him, as I could not deal was such an unprofessional company. He promised the assessor that the bike will be there Monday morning 03/09/2018, at 12:00 I phoned and the bike was still not at Harley Davidson. The assessor phoned again and Wimpie said the bike will be delivered at 15:00 Monday afternoon, to my surprise, Harley let me know just after 15:00 that the bike was delivered.

I went to Harley to make sure that the bike was in the same condition it was as we left it at the accident scene.

I can understand that the bike can be a bit dirty, but it was in a horrific condition, It looks like it was just standing outside , it was full of watermarks, ( it did not rain that week ) , the seat is full of , what looks and feels like glue, at the back of the bike, it looks like paint that is on the bike. We will know what the damage is after the bike has been washed.

This guy is an absolute disgrace to any towing company, If you want to work with professionals, stay away from Great North towing. this guy should rather close his doors and start a business where he does not have to work with people.
