STAFF STOLE 2000 FR0M MY WALLET
I've been going to GrandWest (GW) for more than 20y+ and I always felt safe and secure.
Until this pass Saturday afternoon when R2000 was ****** out my wallet at the main entrance by a security guard.
I went to GW on my motorbike so had a lot of gear to put in the baskets before I walk thru the metal detector. I grabbed my items from the baskets on the otherside of the metal detector but somehow didn't see the wallet.
I realized it was missing before I reached the casino floor and immediately went back to the security. I asked if they picked up a wallet and the security rep****; they found my wallet in a basket at the front entrance and handed the wallet back to me.
I opened the wallet and immediately realized R2000 was missing. So I asked the securiry if a guest found the wallet, they said, no; it was removed from the basket and handled by one security guard.
I requested to speak with a manager so we can review the CCTV footage. My request was denied, apparently no manager was avaliable at that time. I was told to leave a statement with my contact number and the manager will call once he's had the chance to review the footage.
A supervisor called shorlty after and said he reviewed the footage but cannot find any evidence my money was ****** and basically accussed me of lying.
I was in absolute disbelief and refused the accept this BS story. I walked to the info desk and demanded to speak with a senior manager.
I eventualluly met with Mr. Naicker and he was very proactive and swiftly drew a completely different conclusion than the supervisor.
Mr. Naicker admitted he found evidence of fowl play and the security gaurd can be seen taking my money. He told me, the matter was escalated with the security company contracted to GW and they confirmed my money I will be reimbursed.
I was advised GW cannot refund the money because the security services are contracted to another provider. Therefore GW is not liable for the money that was ****** from their guest on their premises by their security staff.
GW will ensure the secuity company reimburses the money but I have to open a case against the staff member at SAPS before they can proceed.
I opened the case and e-mailed Mr. Naicker the case number. I also requested an update and added every department to the circulation list of the e-mail but didn't receive a single reply.
Be vigilant when going to this Grandwest and keep your eyes on your belongings at all times. Be careful when interacting with their staff, GW does not accept responsibility for the well-being of their guests and won't be held liable if their guests are harmed or the belomgings are ******.
