Over six months for a deposit refund - unreasonable!

Grandeur travel need to be considered with absolute caution. They are extremely attentive to your requirements - right up to the point of payment. Once you have paid your deposits, they could care less about you as their customer. This goes for all the staff I have dealt with - Deirdre, Calzarian, and even Ronvin. Their turnaround time in a response is around two weeks on average, if at all! They will respond more quickly if it is in their interests to do so. We booked a cruise with them early 2022, into the baltics. Promptly paid our deposits. Shortly thereafter - the cruise was cancelled due to war in Russia. We had a choice of either receiving a FULL refund of the deposit or we could rebook another cruise elsewhere, pay in any difference and receive a 10% discount. Nothing suited us - we elected to be refunded, and accordingly gave notice and requested the refund. We were advised that the refund could take up to three months to receive. Which is ludicrous? I suspect our substantial deposits were needed to fund their cashflow - an enquiry directly to the cruise line says they refund any deposit immediately - no waiting. Flights were not reserved as I needed to confirm if I wanted to leave earlier than the proposed dates. Hotel accommodation was definitely not reserved with payment. So why so long to effect a repayment. After a period far longer than 3 months and much correspondence back and forth - and RUDE emails (needless to say I too was curt in my correspondence) but in this case the customer was definitely not right to dare to ask or follow on the repayment, I received PART payment. A portion of my deposit is still outstanding. My emails requesting the shortfall go unanswered. In fact with the payment and proof of payment - the message attached read "herewith in full payment and we now consider this matter closed!" The matter is definitely not closed until I receive the balance outstanding - to the last cent!

Mr Julius, I have copies of all correspondence on hand and hope to hear soon what the excuse is for short payment, followed up with the funds outstanding and the PoP.

This has not only happened to me - My parents are still waiting for their near R50k refund - also made at the same time as my own.
