Poor Customer Experience

I cannot accept that there is still a poor customer experience in the year 2021.

Before I made my purchase of a Spry Drone, I called Grand Prix Models to confirm that they indeed do have stock. Confirmation was made that there is one left in stock. I then proceeded to make payment. I called Grand Prix Models the same day to confirm when I can collect, and we confirmed to wait that the payment reflected in their account. I called the next day, to confirm payment and collection. The reply was yes the drone is ready to collect. I raced to get to the shop before they closed. Only to get there, and to be told that the drone in question is on the shelf and is a blank "dummy" demo model. The price of this drone is R18 999 which is not a cheap transaction, from a big supply shop.

Surely, if there is confirmation that there is stock, this reasonably expensive item should be in a sealed box in the store, and not a demo model? Secondly, if you confirm with a client, that the client can collect, that this item is packaged and ready to pick up. This should not be a demo model on a shelf that still needs to be packaged. If you then realize that the item that you confirm is ready for collection is a "dummy model", that you will get in your car and go get one, and not tell the client, you are sorry and must wait another 2 days. I had to waste my time, use my fuel and my vehicle maintenance for no item.

My question is this if that model was in fact a functional demo model? How many times would it have been used to demonstrate to other clients, and how 2nd hand would it have been.

We have now agreed that I will have the drone delivered to my house before 16H00 on the 1st of September. I am expecting a sealed item.
