Funny Behaviour

We had a mishap with an A-Class where the wind blew the front plastic cover on the bonnet off and subsequent damage ( cracked windscreen, dented bonnet because of the flailing of the window washer assembly and jets ) Upon arrival at the destination, the trailer's lights were not working and the Parktronic system was disabled as per instrument cluster warning. We went to MB in the FS and got a quote for repairs to the park distance sensors to the amount of R 6000, to fix the park-distance control harnessing . Complaining, the price dropped to R 3000.

As there were still repairs to be undertaken by the panelbeaters, we left it at that ( Paid an "inspection fee", can't remember the amount, but suffice to say, more than "enough" Apparently, the whole front was st********** to check for the "problem". We did not want to pay that, so, no thank you, panelbeaters will sort.

After repairs by said panelbeaters, we enquired about repairs to the park distance control. Assessor did not approve repairs as it was deemed wear-and-tear. Fine, that was that then.

Left it for 2 months, get some money to repair it then. Then, I had a look at the fuse-box, under the floor. Fuse breakdown leaflet gone, went through all the fuses, all fine. Downloaded a leaflet from the internet, it mentioned a few tow-bar fuses, none were present in this model. Checked them and saw all were actually blanked off, except 1, no. 36. No fuse in that slot. Popped in a 10 amp fuse, voila!!! Trailer lights back, Park-distance control working, Parktronic system FULLY operational, not even 1 sensor not working, all at the back, all 6 in the front.

Now, is that funny or what??? No professional has had a look at the car as I did not want any person with an electronic tester, pretending to be an autolec, fiddling and drumming up more business from me. No work was also done on the "wonky harness" by the panelbeaters, as mentioned above.

So, just a warning. Also, had the car serviced at another MB dealership in the FS. That invoice just came to little more than R16k, without warning, quote, phonecall etc. Pitched up after "the car is ready for pick-up" and BAM!!! R 16k.

Now, here is the thing, MB will NEVER see me again. After this car is done and dusted, I will NEVER, EVER, IN THIS LIFE, have another MB product in my yard. Easy as that. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Not even branding, clothing, NOTHING. Only freedom we have in life is allowing how much we get abused in a relationship.

MB SA can contact me and enquire from me, directly, which of their branches are engaged in such behavior.

Sorry, my bad, no option just for Mercedes-Benz, just for Grand Central Motors, definitely not them. These 2 shops that I dealt with are all in the Freestate, reckon the 2 biggest.
