WARNING: LOUIS & ANDREW BOTHA & GRACE SOLUTIONS

Today I would like to warn all potential victims of the following so-called workmanship. We are currently building our house. We got a guy by the name of Louis Botha to quote us on granite tops for our kitchen and bathrooms. In March 2022 Mr Botha came out to see me and after a few weeks I supp**** him with our kitchen and bathroom layouts and what type of granite we were looking for. He then supp**** us with a quote. The company’s name on the quote was Grace Solutions. We were told that usually you need to pay 70% deposit for them to buy/reserve the granite. Twenty percent is payable on installation and 10% after the job has been done. But Mr Botha informed us to only pay 50% as we have not even yet started building. We paid the 50% deposit in April 2022. Early November 2022 our project manager informed us that granite tops can be installed. Mr Botha informed us that he needs to come and make final measurements, which he did on the 21st of November 2022. According to his contract, installation will happen 10/15 working days after final measurements have been taken. But we were pressed for time as our rental agreement were ending at 28th of December 2022. We discussed this with Mr Botha and were told that installation will take place before 15th of December 2022 as the builders’ holiday starts. Mr Botha made a lot of promises. The one day he will say, “I will be on your site, next week,” must take my lady to the hospital,” then next week comes, “can’t come out today my worker’s wife was in a car crash, no one to come out will come next week.” Never once did Mr Botha inform me, I had to ask every time. 15th of December 2022 came, and we were stranded without a home as we cannot move into the new house and our rental agreement has ended. We had to spend Christmas and New Year with friends which we appreciate dearly, but this was not ideal. We then got hold of Grace Solutions’ director Mr Andrew Botha and asked him what was going on and could he please send photos of the granite that we paid for to make sure that our money did buy granite. Up to today, we never received any photos. Only promises. Empty promises. We then said that “Please! Come and do installation on the 9th of January 2023” as the builders’ holiday was over and the estate was open for builders, etc. No one arrived. We got excuses again and “next week” promises from both Mr Louis & Mr Andrew Botha. We then decided to track them on Facebook and realized that it was a father and son business. Mr Andrew asked me to phone him after numerous promises of “I will phone you in the morning at 11h00 and we will arrange a meeting, I will sort this out for you, I know you’ve been very patient”. We never received a phone call or a message. Nothing. The contract states if we cancel the contract, they keep the 70% deposit. At this stage we already paid more than 70%. Please be aware. We have now decided to get other granite installers as we cannot keep living with friends and family forever and we are already paying our bond off but cannot live in the house. They turned our dream into a nightmare.
