Grabouw Superspar. Disgusting Customer relationship
Alarming customer relationship management by Ms CARLA ZANDBERG OurFamily has been loyal customers of the Grabouw Superstar Grabouw since April 2022. Our relationship with the SPAR BRAND goes back to the GENESIS of SPAR in SOUTH AFRICA We moved to Grabouw in April 2022 We shop daily and our average spend inflation adjusted has been say R650. About R **** since moving to Grabouw Yesterday as is normal it being winter, we bought 600 gms of Stewing steak to build a standard stew or Potjie. The rest of the items to go into the Potjie were all purchased from the Grabouw SuperSPAR We made the Potjie as per normal Probably done this 1000 times in my 66 odd years Dinner was eaten and my wife her son went to bed. About an hour later, I started to feel nauseous. . I ran though the food eaten through the day and concluded that the only variable was the meat in the potjie. At about 04.30 my wife arose and started to vomit. Her 18 year old son awoke later and he to was sick
We had meetings in Somerset West this morning so only got to address this matter at 13.45 this afternoon. Our relationship with the SPAR GRABOUW management and staff has been cordial to say the least. Concerned that a Food poisoning incident could have dire effects I approached the Manageress on duty today, to highlight the problem and mentioned that I had no intention of taking this any further This comment seemed to upset the Manageress and I was surprised that she needed to consult with her BOSS or FATHER as it turned out, over such a trivial matter. Her subsequent response indicates that the problem is probably a lot bigger than just a ZAR 64 packet of Stewing steak. We gave her adequate space and time to relay the problem to her Father. On returning CARLA ( Name Tag ) told me that she had consulted and they were prepared to replace the Stewing steak. Not wishing to run the risk of further food poison we declined. We offered to take a lower price item in return. At which pointI was told bluntly: "WE DO NOT DO THINGS THAT WAY!" No further solutions were offered, she turned her back and stalked off.
Unsure of her Last Name. I called after her. "What is your Surname. As she was walking away, my voice had to get louder and louder in order to get her alltention. Finally She turn back and accosted me with the following :
"THIS IS MY SHOP. I WILL NOT BE SHOUTED AT IN MY SHOP. NOW GET OUT AND DO NOT COME BACK"
At 66 years old I do need to be dressed down in public by a whippersnapper of shop assistant, whether her father owns the business or not
My wife who was standing alongside could not believe her eyes nor ears.
So we left
An unnecessary and shocking response to Customer feedback. This may indicate that the problem is bigger than a single incident
