Pathetic Service

Had my Fortuner fixed by GP almost two years ago. Bonnet was replaced and sprayed. Paint started fading just after 1 year and a few months. I called them and they said paintwork guarantee was only for 1 year. Poor workmanship. I thought paint had a 7 year guarantee? It was an insurance claim. Don't ever use them even if your insurance company tells you to. You have the right to ask them to change the repairer.

Now I am ever more convinced that people at GP are nothing more than rogues and dishonest business people. After struggling for 3 years to get my bonnet sprayed they finally agree to do the work but i need to oay R1500.00 whilst they should have done it for free. I RELUCTANTLY AGREE only because i am so tired of this fight and really just wanted it done now.

What happens next totally amazes me. I hand the vehicle to them on Tuesday the 3rd December 2019. I go through the inspection sheet with the lady responsible to check everything before I book it in. Everything is fine and i check with her the sheet as we go along and the check that verifies that the aircon is working is done and my aircon is working perfectly. I even go as far as joking with the lady and says it makes ice cold. When I fetch the vehicle I drive to work and my aircon is not working. i drive back there after calling only to be told that they did nothing on the engine and took the bonnet off to spray. They test and say it's just the gas that is finished and they are not responsible. They produce the inspection sheet after I am made to wait for a few minutes and lo and behold the aircon tick is there to confirm it works but a new addition was now added to say its not making cold. Total dishonesty and ***** on the part of GP as i who was part of the initial inspection knows that that that comment was not there. it's now three 4 against 1. There word against mine.

I am told to come the next day so I do this only to be told to ****** off. I leave in total disgust and go to an establishment that gasses aircons and they alert me to a condenser/radiator leak which has miraculously now appeared. People my aircon was working 100% . The guy says as soon as he started to gas it the gas was escaping through a hole. I now have to pay R600 for the work by this establishment to check the aircon. Still my aircon is not working. The job to replace the condenser is +-R4500.00.

I have no words to describe how angry I am. I go back and am treated like garbage and mention is made of my google review posted above. Is this payback? Am I the victim of being honest on a review? All I know is that my vehicle didn't come back the way i gave it in. STAY AWAY FROM GP PANEL BEATERS PEOPLE!! I am now contacting the motor industry ombudsman because this is really and truly pathetic. Maybe justice will be served by me going the legal route.
