Excessive pricing

I am upset, VERY upset. My son (a student) had an accident...he did not call GP Towing or GP Panelbeaters to assist with the recovery. They just SHOWED up within minutes after the accident. Strange....Do they have cameras all around Stellenbosch? My son proposed he will push the vehicle out of the road himself into a safe parking space until he speaks to me for further instructions. GP Towing/Panelbeaters urged my son to make use of their services. Said it would cost approximately R1500. The traffic officer told my son he can trust GP Towing/GP Panelbeaters.

I contacted them the next morning and said I want to arrange for the vehicle to go to another Panelbeater. They immediately said why, we can also repair your vehicle. On a second request that the vehicle be taken to another Panelbeater they again resisted and asked why...I said I could not find any reviews on their services. I am a Namibian...and need to work with a Panelbeater I feel comfortable with.

I received an invoice for R5635.00 for a recovery within a 20km radius. I am SHOCKED by the way GP Towing/Panelbeaters operates. Who informed them that there was an accident? Would we have made use of their services if we knew it costs R5635.00? NO!!!!

I requested their pricing structure....they did not answer me. Hope this serves as a warning for anyone thinking of using GP Towing/GP Panelbeaters. Or when they show up out of the blue.
