Great help/services
On Tuesday, I took my car to another well-known workshop (part of a national franchise). The reason was there was a strange noise coming from my car. The workshop had my car for over a day and a half and told me specifically that it was NOT caused by wheel bearings but by a flat spot on my front tyre. So trusting their “expert” advice I went and purchased two new tyres. However, the same noise was still there. Even after keeping my car for another day this workshop couldn’t find the root cause of the noise. The most disappointing thing was they wouldn’t take responsibility and admit they were wrong and it was entirely unnecessary for me to buy new tyres!!!
Someone then recommended I take my car to GP Motor Works. After the initial assessment and physical inspection, Gilles was honest with me and let me know I needed to leave my car with them for a few days because the problem was not a common one. The noise was intermittent and only occurred at around 80 km/hr. The physical inspection also clearly indicated there was significant play on the front tyres which meant the wheel bearings were badly worn.
Throughout the process, Gilles gave me daily updates on the work which needed to be done. I found the updates to be very professional because it gave me peace of mind that my car was in good hands. After two days, they had replaced both front wheel bearings and hubs. This solved the original noise problem which was caused by the play in the wheel bearings.
I am very impressed with the level of service I received. I would go as far to say that it was the best service I have ever had from a car repair company.
Thank you Gilles and everyone at GP Motor Works.
